To enhance the flavor of the walnuts, toast them in the oven for five to ten minutes before you use them. The natural oils in the nuts enhance the flavor, upon being heated. Walnuts are an excellent source of Omega Three fatty acids, which are heart healthy,
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Grease/spray a 13x 9 baking pan.
In a mixing bowl cream together the egg, sugar and softened butter
Add dry ingredients into creamed mixture (excpt walnuts), stir well
Add vanilla and walnuts, stir well.
Place all ingredients in prepared baking pan.Bake until edges are lightly browned and center is set, approximately 30-35 minutes. Do not overbake.
Let sit before cutting.
