Since 1914, The Blazing Star Grange has held an annual fair. Like most grange fairs, it has included tractor pulls, a parade, livestock shows, vegetable displays, baking contests, and all the things that make small-town fairs special.
Over 109 years, the fair has evolved while keeping its core spirit. Modern attractions like bed races have joined the traditional events, but the purpose remains the same: bringing the community together to celebrate our agricultural heritage and small-town life.
The grange itself has been a cornerstone of Danbury's community life for over a century. Granges were originally organized to support farmers, but they quickly became social centers where neighbors gathered, problems were solved, and celebrations were shared.
If you've never been to our community fair, make it a point to come next year. It's a reminder of what makes small towns like Danbury special — the sense that we're all in this together.
